What this category covers

Stainless-steel tableware, cookware and non-stick pans.

What these goods have to clear

China

Not in the CCC catalogue (stainless-steel tableware and knives, forks, spatulas and spoons have no entries); it runs on the national food-safety standard GB 4806.9-2023 (metallic materials and articles in contact with food).

For a die-cast aluminium non-stick pan, the coating layer must also satisfy GB 4806.10-2025, Coatings and Coatings in Contact with Food - that standard took effect on 2026-09-02 and now applies, so it is not GB 4806.9 alone.

European Union

The food-contact part runs on the framework regulation (EC) 1935/2004 and material-specific measures; general product safety falls under GPSR (EU) 2023/988. Ceramic articles have their own directive, 84/500/EEC (lead and cadmium migration limits plus a declaration of compliance), covered in detail on the 'Homeware' page.

United States

Food contact is covered by FDA 21 CFR Parts 174-179 (indirect food additives); see the corresponding column on the 'Printed packaging' page.
